How the Foundation Raises money:
- Gala Roulette: GNMAA has an Annual Gala.
This is the Association's formal event of the year. It is attended by
1000 of our members, mostly board members, presidents, business
leaders and owners of establishments around The Magnificent Mile
neighborhood. GNMAA's Foundation hosts a fundraising activity at the
reception - the Gala Roulette. Items donated by our members are
beautifully wrapped ready for the roulette. Members pay $10 for a
ticket. They draw a number which matches a wrapped gift. The goal is to
raise at least $5,000.
- Ladies' Night Out: The concept is to have
networking with drink and hors d' oevres, silent auction items in
addition to the pampering services offered. A hefty goodie bag is also
given to each attendee as they leave the salon. This usually sold-out
event can accommodate up to 125 attendees and has consistently raised
$5,000.
- Annual Raffle: Once a year, the
Foundation also holds a raffle drawing during one of GNMAA's membership
luncheons. Tickets cost $25 each and typically 3 prizes are
drawn. Prizes are donated by GNMAA members. These donors are recognized
during the raffle solicitation and at the day of the luncheon. The goal
is to raise at $15,000.
